I started advocating for interoperable digital identity in 2020 and posted various threads on the tokenization of avatars over the years. Since then its been continuous experimentation with digital identity and vrm based interop to explore different platforms as I believe this kind of self-expression will play a crucial role in the immersive web. The idea of creating and expressing yourself in the digital realm is going to become seamless over time.

The cryptoart community is one of the most fundamental web3 tribes. I've been around artists, founders and collectors since the early SuperRare days. Over the past years my attention has been spent between Museum of Crypto Art (2021) and the cultural distribution engine zeroone (2023). It became my mission to build for arts and culture supporting the novel creator economy around digital assets that emerged from cryptoart.

Back in 2013 my life long friend Alex and I founded the dev studio qwellcode which started building web3 dapps in 2018. We are taking care of the tech side for both MOCA and zeroone where we research bleeding edge tech and build consumer applications for the web3 space with the goal to lift up artists around the globe.

The Museum of Crypto Art pioneers human-AI symbiosis through decentralized art sovereignty rooted in the manifesto published in 2021. Its Genesis Collection preserves early artworks as digital cave paintings capturing the first steps of this ecosystem. MOCA embeds these epiphanic moments into a world where personalized AI curators guide users through digital exhibition. This blog post dives into the tech and envisions our path.

The MOCA Library safeguards cultural heritage via an open source search engine indexing knowledge about arts and culture. Right now its curated by the museum but we're about to invite interested humans and autonomous entities into shaping this collective wisdom and make it accessible around the globe. Modular architecture called MOCA ROOMs, about to be fueled with AI agents, transport art through digital and physical spaces.

Zeroone is a next gen cultural discovery and distribution engine. It helps creators and their communities to move away from likes towards co-ownership of the content they're creating. It is ultra accessible, inclusive and doesn't involve any cost to create/collect. Zeroone runs an Avalanche L1 and is fueled by smart accounts enabling an ultra accessible user experience. Users login via email and are able to participate in the creator economy.

At ETHDenver 2019 we shipped the first version of POAP to Ethereum Mainnet. My friend Patricio asked Daniel, Gonzalo and me to join and we teamed up to build this smart contract based ecosystem for the preservation of memories. Since then the Proof of Attendance Protocol allows event organizers to issue tokenized badges for real and virtual attendance in sybil resistant manner. It was such a pleasure to build and bound with this crew.

At some point I joined M3org and started to write my blog with the plan to learn in public by sharing experiences around self-hosting, artificial intelligence and other building blocks via long form content. M3 (Metaverse Makers) is a virtual hackerspace that focuses on building, teaching and learning everything that accelerates the creation of an open and permissionless web with a focus on agentic systems and immersive worlds.

Another research project I initiated back in 2020 is the tokenized identity Nature this had originally sparked my research around avatars and digital identity. Besides all sorts of tinkering and interoperability experiments Nature explores community-driven IP and cross-platform storytelling. Early open source LLM experiments in 2023 led to her being fueled by elizaOS a while later which led to her social media presence slowly becoming more agentic.
